Someone in their corner
I'm Sam, a 27-year-old Maths Tutor based in London. I grew up in Cambridge, where I used to punt on the river Cam as a tour guide, giving tours and telling stories about the University, which I loved. I've recently made the move to London and tutoring has been a big part of settling in.
I've always enjoyed Maths from a young age, in Year 3 my teacher called me a 'Maths Wizard', which I'm still quietly proud of! I want to share that love for the subject with others, and hopefully it rubs off on them too.
I've been tutoring since 2022. I have two younger brothers, so with students it tends to feel more like an older brother relationship than a formal tutor one: calm, patient, and straight-talking.
A number of my students have been with me since their SATs and continued through into secondary school. That consistency has made a real difference.
Because of my working hours, I'm available from 3:30pm on weekdays, meaning your child can get started earlier in the evening rather than waiting until later. This has been very popular with students and parents alike.
Based in Hackney, I tutor students across East London — including Hackney, Islington, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest, and surrounding areas.
Sessions are one-to-one, in person or online, built around where your child actually is.
